Being the first year Bank of Prairie du Sac served as a host bank for the American Bankers Association's (ABA's) video contest for teens, we were delighted to receive quality submissions and look forward to continuing to expand on  this and other financial literacy efforts in the future.

As the winner of our local competition, Tamara's video advances to American Bankers Association (ABA) for the video contest's second round and national competition. Good luck!

Below is a summary of upcoming dates for the contest. All selection specifics can be found under the “Selection of Winners” section on the ABA’s “Lights, Camera, Save!” Official 2024 Rules webpage.

January 5, 2025 - Winners of Preliminary Round are submitted to ABA

January 14 , 2025 - Second Round Voting Begins on Instagram

  • Preliminary Round winning videos will be posted in pairs of two (2) to ABA's official Instagram account at “@americanbankersassociation” 

  • Each Video that receives the most votes in each two-way face-off will advance to the Final Round. 

  • There will be a total of four (4) winners (each, as “Winner”) chosen in the Final Round.  Three Winners will be chosen by Sponsors’ Choice and one Winner will be chosen by Bankers’ Choice. 

January 21-24, 2025 - Final Round Judging

February 7, 2025 - Finalists will be announced on ABA's Instagram Account  

  • From these Finalists, Sponsor shall select one (1) grand prize Winner, one (1) second place Winner, and one (1) third place Winner. 

February 24, 2025 - Three Winners will be announced on ABA's Instagram Account

What is Lights, Camera, Save!, anyway?

American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation and bankers across the country (including Bank of Prairie du Sac) want to empower teens to educate their peers about the value of good money habits. So, ABA Foundation created an annual contest that runs through local banks like us!

To enter, students between 13 and 18 years of age can submit a 30-second, self-made video to Bank of Prairie du Sac. We will choose three (3) local winners to receive $50 (third place), $75 (2nd place) and $100 (1st place). Plus, our local first-place winner will then be submitted to the national contest for a chance to win one of three cash prizes – worth $9,000 in total!

  3. Get to work on your 30-second video – tell a creative story about the value of solid money management skills in a way that will appeal to other teens. See topic ideas above.
     
  4. Video entries are due December 1, 2024.

SUBMISSION CHECKLIST

Before submitting your video make sure the components below are included. Entries that do not have all required components will be disqualified.

  • Contestant Entry Form- Complete all portions of the form which includes your parent/guardian’s signature (if you’re a minor). This form will be used to contact the winner.
     
  • Video- Be sure to include the URL to your video on the Contestant Entry Form.

Contest Timeline

  • October 1, 2024 - Contest opens to students

  • December 1, 2024 - Contest entries due to local bank host

  • December 31, 2024 - Local Contest Winner Announcement

  • January 5, 2025 - Local 1st Place Winner submissions due to ABA Foundation

  • January 14 – 17, 2025 - National Contest Round 1: Instagram Voting

  • January 31, 2025 - National Winner Banks Notified

  • February 24, 2025 - National Winner Announcement

Judging Criteria:

  • 40% for message

  • 30% production value

  • 30% for creativity
