Mitch Breunig Joins Board of Directors

March 19, 2024 was designated National Ag Day! It wasn't planned, but Bank of Prairie du Sac felt it was extremely fitting that Mitch Breunig's first official Board of Directors Meeting fell on that day. Joining current Board Members: Steve Ploetz, Pat Yanke, John McFarlane, Craig Culver, and Julie Coquard, Breunig will represent the agricultural community and fills the Board seat held by Mike Wehler for the past 40 years.

Involved in agriculture all his life, Breunig brings a wealth of knowledge about and passion for the agricultural industry. Mitch Breunig is owner of Mystic Valley Dairy, LLC, which is located in Roxbury.  The farm milks about 450 cows and raises crops on 1050 acres.  His duties on the farm include managing the farm’s eight employees, overseeing the breeding and health care of the herd, analyzing the finances, and marketing the milk, cattle, and crops for the farm.  Mystic Valley Dairy focuses on breeding cattle with longevity and profitable production.  The farm's prefix is Jenny-Lou and is recognized worldwide for breeding Toystory, the world’s only 2 million unit of semen sold sire.

Mitch graduated from UW-Madison in 1992 with a degree in dairy science.  Before returning home to the family farm, he spent one year working for Land’O Lakes in their feeding division.

Mitch is a member of the Dairy Business Association (DBA) and a Past President of the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin (PDPW). Mitch is also the Past chairman of the Dairy Innovation Hub advisory council in Wisconsin.

Away from the farm, Mitch likes spending time with his family and watching the Badgers and Packers. He is also active in the Sauk Prairie community and enjoys broadcasting Sauk Prairie High School football and basketball.
