Remember what you were doing in February 1984? For Mike Wehler it was the start of his 40 years of service on our Board of Directors!
February 2024 marks his retirement from PdS Bancorp, Inc. Board, and at the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, February 27, Mike was recognized for his dedicated service to Bank of Prairie du Sac and PdS Bancorp, Inc.
Reflecting on his initial interactions with the bank
Mike shared how he had come to Bank of Prairie du Sac for a small business loan in the early-70's. While meeting with Roman Koenig, Ag Loan Officer, Mike recalls Edward Gruber, Bank President/CEO at that time, stopping by Koenig's office to offer greetings. After glancing at the loan papers before them, Gruber inquired if Mike was sure he was borrowing enough to get started in farming. As a first-time borrower, Mike felt that was a very friendly gesture and knew that was the start of a long-term relationship with the bank. How right he was!
